14 November 2014 | Johannesburg, South Africa
Geekfest 2014 is promising to be bigger and better – and Journal of a South African Apocalypse will be there in the Zombie Compound. Happening on Saturday, 29 November2014 at the Ball and All Driving Range, Pub & Restaurant, it will be a fun day for all fans of fantasy, science fiction… and zombies.
Journal of a South African Zombie Apocalypse authored by Lee Herrmann is the chronicle of sixteen-year-old Kon’s family fight for survival against the undead on a journey to get to Robben Island, a reputed safe haven. But unlike Kon, our everyday errands includes walking, running or driving around, fascinated and looking for an environment that provides that rare experiences with the walking dead. That sucks hey!
Geekfest is a must for fans of the genre and the author of Journal of a South African Zombie Apocalypse will be in attendance as well as speaking on zombie literature and survival at the zombie compound. Books will be on sale at R120 and can be signed by the author.
We ask Herrmann to distil on the zombie captivating plot and human survival in his second novel. He says that, “quite often they are a reflection of ourselves and our fears. Plus, they’re pretty cool.’ That sounds pretty straightforward, right! But wait until you hear the whole story behind that answer. Will Kon and his family escape the horror from which they flee?
There will also be demonstrations on zombie survival among other activities.
Journal of a South African Zombie Apocalypse is also available from Amazon, Kalahari, Porcupine Press and Loot as an e-book and hard copy. Hard copies are available in selected bookstores.
