Fidelity ADT arrested three suspects in White River following a response to a distress call on a community group On 10 May at approximately 11h42.
According to Joe de Bruyn, branch manager for Fidelity ADT, “We received a notification that two suspects had been seen jumping over a wall at a residence on the corner of Robyn and Sondersorg Street.” On arrival, Fidelity ADT Reaction Officers Gerhard de Beer, Denny Mhlanga, Rodney Marino, and Life Nkuna surrounded the premises blocking all escape routes.
Reaction Officer de Beer, jumped over the wall to search for the suspects, one of the suspects spotted the officer and ran in the opposite direction, jumped over the wall, and ran straight into Officer Marino. The suspect was successfully apprehended.
Reaction Officer de Beer continued to search for the second suspect. In the meantime, backup officer Nkuna saw the suspect jump over the wall into another property. The Officers immediately gave chase and detained him inside the neighbour’s yard.
As the officers exited the property another suspect was spotted, this time by Reaction Officer Mhlanga. Fortunately he too managed to apprehend the suspect.
All three suspects were handed over to White River SAPS.
Joe de Bruyn, branch manager at Fidelity ADT says “I commend our Officers for their quick response and effective search.“The perimeter of your property is probably one of the most important security barriers you need to worry about. “The best defense against burglars, opportunistic thieves or armed robbers is to make your property as unattractive to criminals as possible by implementing extra precautions to keep your belongings safe, inside and outside the home,” says de Bruyn.
