The audacity to volunteer and make a difference

On Friday 15 July, African Bank staff donned their jeans and tackies and joined other committed South African corporates packing meals for Early Childhood Development (ECD).
The packing took place at the Sandton Convention Centre and is part of the Rise Against Hunger campaign for Mandela Month. “In our 67 minutes to honour Mandela we packed 67 boxes of meals,” says Edna Montse, African Bank Chief of Staff.
“This is an incredible opportunity to serve where we are able and to improve the lives of children and educators around the country.
Sustainability and transformation form an integral part of our strategy to build a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people. It’s only fitting that this month we recognise the enormous contribution Madiba’s legacy has made to our communities and we are able to serve our communities by becoming hunger champions.”
