Crime Operation a success – Villieria Precinct
Written by: Jacqui Save to InstapaperFidelity ADT’s Special intervention Unit (SIU) in Pretoria took part in a special operation arranged by the Villieria SAPS on the morning of 28 November in an attempt to cut back on illegal activities in the area.
The teams went to informal settlements, known drug and crime hotspots in the Villieria precinct, specifically Villieria, Rietfontein, Kilner Park, Queenswood and Gezina and carried out a number of patrols and stop and searches in the area.
Leon Muller District Manager from Fidelity ADT says the operation was very successful and let to the arrest of 12 people for various crimes including public disorder (drinking in public) and selling illegal alcohol to not having the correct documentation (illegal immigrants.
“We believe it is important to do these operations regularly to make a point that there is a security presence and crime will not be tolerated,” he says.
