Two New Episodes of The Chosen: Last Supper to Screen at Select Ster-Kinekor Cinemas in April
Submitted by: Janet de KretserIn line with the global release, Ster-Kinekor has announced that it will be screening the acclaimed faith-based drama, The Chosen: Last Supper – Part One. The first two episodes of Season 5 will play back-to-back from 10 to 13 April, with one screening per day at select cinema sites.
When Seasons 3 and 4 were released in cinemas, they achieved extraordinary numbers: season 3 was released in seven territories and grossed US Dollars 20.6m globally (1m internationally) at the box office, while Season 4 released in 35 territories and grossed 40m globally (8m internationally) at the box office.
In The Chosen: Last Supper, the table is set. The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But, instead of confronting Rome, he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival when he finds His Father’s house has been turned from a place of prayer into a corrupt market. With their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last.
Shot in a beautiful cinematic format, The Chosen: Last Supper brings the most pivotal week in Christian history to cinema audiences in this special theatrical release.
