Sports Business Indaba to debate the new normal
Submitted by: Gerrit DavidsThe next edition of the Sports Business Indaba (SBI) will be held as an online event from 29-30 October 2020, featuring the Sports Business Leadership and MassActive Forums respectively.
SBI will aim to create an interactive platform for in-depth debate about the future outlook of the sports business industry, as well as assessing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has also brought the world of sport, to stand still.
SBI will feature close to 50 international and mainly, leading South African sports business’ personalities, sharing their thought leadership on how the industry should put in place, the best sustainable strategies, to ensure its future survival.
Each daily programme, will also feature various Awards programmes to bestow recognition upon sports business’ leaders, service providers and brands, for their unselfish endeavours to sustain this vibrant industry.
SBI will kick-off with the Sports Business Leadership Forum and Awards, which will feature breakaway sessions for Women in Sports Business, Pro Sports and Sponsorship respectively.
The Women in Sports Business Session and Awards will debate and give recognition to women trailblazers in the sports business industry, at large.
The aspect of leadership in the Pro Sports arena will also be dissected and especially it’s future outlook in terms of managing modern day leagues and franchises, stakeholder engagement and the demands of corporate governance, in general.
The Sponsorship session, will unpack the future of commercial deals under the new normal and it will also bestow awards upon the most admired sport brands in South Africa.
Day Two will feature the MassActive Forum and Awards, which will convene South Africa's premier mass participation event organisers and fitness facility owners to debate the future outlook for events and fitness activities, post Covid-19.
It will include the MassActive Events, FitActive and the Marathonex sessions, with each segment also hosting its own awards ceremonies to celebrate excellence within their respective sectors of the sports business industry.
