Sponsorship Summit set for 3 November 2023

The Sponsorship Summit, which was first held in 2012 in Cape Town and was last held in 2018, will once again be staged on 3 November 2023, as a premier gathering for rights holders, sponsors, the sports media, and agencies, among others.
The main focus of the Summit will be on what sports rights holders and sponsors really want from commercial partnerships and how to foster sustainable win-win sponsorship negotiation strategies as well as the role of big data in social media and whether it offers sponsors any value, whatsoever.
The Summit will also serve as an interactive exchange of thought leadership on the most critical issues for brands in the modern-day sponsorship arena and especially how to optimise their Return on Investment (ROI) and Return on Objectives (ROOs), respectively.
Delegates will have ample time to engage and network with their peers and share best practices to continuously have a meaningful conversation about sustainable commercial partnerships between rights holders and sponsors.
A Sponsorship Review and Outlook 2024 presentation will be one of the highlights of the Summit since it will give delegates a high-level overview of some of the major sponsorship deals both locally and internationally, especially with the Rugby World and Cricket World Cups happening in the same year and the Paris Olympics taking place in 2024.
The summit program will feature more than 20 speakers representing federations, professional clubs, franchises, event organisers, agencies, and sponsors, alike.
Various international speakers will also participate virtually and give their input and perspectives as to the current trends around the world in the overall sponsorship ecosystem.
According to organiser, Gerrit Davids, MD of Gerom Media, Sports and Entertainment (Pty) Ltd, “The Summit is long overdue, and it will as before, offer both rights holders and sponsors the ideal opportunity to engage each other on what creates win-win commercial deals and whether how to create a total alignment with the actual objectives of both parties.”
The Summit will be preceded by a hybrid Sponsorship Masterclass on 26 October 2023 with the main theme structured around “Sponsorship Valuations and Negotiation Strategies”.
