Sponsorship Forum dates announced
Written by: Gerrit Davids Save to InstapaperJohannesburg – Sports business conference organiser, Gerom Media, has announced that its annual series of sponsorship forums will start off in Johannesburg on 1 November 2019, coinciding with this year’s edition of the Soweto Marathon and the Rugby World Cup final.
Editions will also be held in Cape Town on 15 November and Durban on 22 November 2019 respectively.
The focus of the Forum will this time around be, on Event Sponsorship, and the organisers are putting together a high profile speaker list of industry thought leaders, sponsors and event organisers alike.
According to Gerrit Davids, MD of Gerom Media, “Event organisers and sponsors will engage and debate in a highly interactive environment, sharing best practice and strategies on how sport events could deliver a real and sustainable return on the sponsor’s investment and business objectives.”
Davids says, “The role of sponsorship agencies is still a key conversation in the bigger scheme of things, and a dedicated session will unpack the current trends in the sponsorship and marketing arena, as well as assessing the continued value of agencies managing the sponsorship between sponsors and rights holders”.
The Forum will also feature a right holders’ panel discussion with major event organisers, sharing their perceptions on what creates a win-win return on investment for both partners to an event.
The “UnConference Session”, will be an open discussion giving delegates an opportunity to raise their concerns regarding the current challenges faced in a highly disrupted economy, in terms of forging sustainable partnerships with sponsors. The results of the ‘Event Sponsorship Survey 2020 Outlook”, will also be released at the Forum.
The Forum will also feature the launch of the Sports Business Awards 2020, which include segments like the Pro Sports, Sport Brands Index and the Sports Business Leadership Awards respectively.
The Pro Sports and Sports Business Leadership Awards will bestow recognition for the contribution made by executives in the sports industry, whereas the Sport Brands Index Awards, on the other hand, will give recognition to those sports brands and sponsors deserving of appreciation for their role in partnering SA sport.
