The Professional Fighters League (PFL) returns to South Africa with its second electrifying PFL Africa event, bringing the continent’s fiercest MMA talent to Johannesburg. On Saturday, August 9 2025, the Big Top Arena at Carnival City will host the welterweight and featherweight quarterfinals of the inaugural PFL Africa tournament, as 32 fighters from 15 African nations battle it out in the SmartCape to advance toward crowning the first PFL Africa Champions by year’s end.
The main event will feature a high-octane featherweight quarterfinal clash between Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (6-1) and Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1) – two of West Africa’s finest – promising an explosive showdown. In the co-main event, Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1), fresh off a thrilling PFL debut win, will take on Gambia’s Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in a gripping welterweight quarterfinal bout. More action-packed matchups will be announced soon.
