Windmill Casino is celebrating the start of the festive season with its Christmas Lights switch-on this week Thursday, 4 December 2025. To create a lovelier festive atmosphere, a variety of food and drink stalls will be on hand as the sparkling lights are switched on at 19h00. The display will continue to shine until Monday, 5 January 2026, filling the season with cheer and festive magic.
And because Christmas is a time of giving, Windmill is supporting New Beginnings Animal Shelter this year. Visitors who would like to donate pet food, blankets, beds, bowls and/or toys, a donation box will be placed in the casino foyer, opposite Rosie’s Restaurant.
“Christmas is a time of family, and a time of joy,” said Johan Oosthuizen, General Manager at Windmill Casino. “We welcome everyone to join us for the switch-on and are honoured to have Emain Fourie, president and founder of New Beginnings Charity, help us light up the season.”
“Thank you in advance to Windmill and all visitors for your generous donations. It costs more than R220 000 a month to run our operations, and we care for up to 70 animals at any given time. Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated, especially during this festive season,” said Fourie.
To keep the festive fun going, Windmill Casino will extend its operating hours during the holidays, running 24 hours on 5–7 December, 26–28 December, and 31 December 2025. Beyond gaming, there will be plenty of festive activities to enjoy throughout the period.
