Enjoy festive magic and support New Beginnings Animal Shelter
Windmill Christmas Garden Lights launch on Thursday, 4 December 2025 brought an incredible turnout of families, friends and holiday enthusiasts. The evening raised valuable support for Windmill’s chosen beneficiary, New Beginnings Animal Shelter.
“Thank you Windmill and all visitors for your generous donations. It costs more than R220 000 a month to run our operations, and we care for up to 70 animals at any given time. Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated, especially during this festive season,” said Natalie Kotze, president of New Beginnings.
For visitors who would like to donate pet food, blankets, beds, bowls and/or toys, a donation box will be placed in the casino foyer, opposite Rosie’s Restaurant.
Johan Oosthuizen, General Manager of Windmill Casino, said: “Seeing so many members of the community come together to celebrate the festive season was truly special. We are proud to host an event that spreads joy, supports a local charity, and creates lasting memories. We welcome everyone to return throughout December to enjoy the lights and share in the spirit of giving.”
The lights remain on and will continue to shine until Monday, 5 January 2026, filling the season with cheer and festive magic.
Guests can also still enter Windmill’s photo booth social media competition: Post your photo booth picture on Facebook, tag the Windmill page, like and follow Windmill’s page. The photo with the most likes by 23 December will win a buffet lunch for two at Rosies.
To keep the festive fun going, Windmill Casino will extend its operating hours during the holidays, running 24 hours on 5–7 December, 26–28 December, and 31 December 2025. Beyond gaming, there will be plenty of festive activities to enjoy throughout the period.
