Welcome spring with exclusive al fresco events in the heart of the city
The Sunday Society Picnic makes a grand return this spring, with dates set all the way through to summer. A chic outdoor affair set in The Maslow Sandton’s lush gardens, guests can look forward to a stylish and elegant afternoon of live music, gourmet baskets, and Graham Beck bubbly.
Each date features a dress code to set the mood, for a perfect mix of sophistication, relaxation, and vibrant energy. On Sunday, 28 September 2025, the new season launches with traditional South African chic. On 26 October, bring out your summer vintage look and on 2 November, it’s all about boho luxe with earthy neutrals and floaty fabrics.
Brighten up your life on 30 November with colour blocking in bold shades of purple, orange, green and hot pink. By December everyone will be in a festive mood, so the theme for the 7th is gold, emerald green and crimson. Don’t be shy to accessorise!
The final Sunday Society Picnic for 2025 is on 14 December. Bring out those sparkles and shine in the sunshine with sequins and metallics. More is more.
Sip your welcome glass of Graham Beck bubbly, and snack on the goodies in the September picnic basket: Vegetable crisps, popcorn, and mixed nuts. Your dessert is in there too – fruit kebab, milk tart and cheesecake. Between that, pile your plate with potato salad, creamy coleslaw and sausage salad; or build your own with the selections of cocktail tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, julienne carrots, boiled eggs, croutons, feta cheese and olives. Meat lovers will delight in the charcuterie and cheese board selection which includes biltong, droëwors, cabanossi, chilli salami sticks, grapes, preserves, local cheeses, and Melba toast.
No one is going hungry with the fantastic hot main course offering: Vetkoek with spicy mince ragout, garlic and cheese dumplings, arancini balls with chakalaka purée, cocktail boerewors pinwheels with tomato relish, bacon-wrapped chicken lollipop, lamb cutlets with chimichurri, and panko-crumbed prawns with tartar sauce.
Each event will feature a different menu with exciting new dishes so you can come back again and again for a fresh and vibrant new experience every time.
Why not make it a luxurious weekend escape? Extend your indulgence by booking a Saturday night stay for two at The Maslow Sandton and wake up to a delicious breakfast at Lacuna Bistro on Sunday morning before the picnic.
Availability is limited so book now to secure your spot and experience Sandton’s most sought-after luxury picnic.
