Baird Media Seeks a New Kind of General Manager. Not a Job. A Partnership.
Written by: Hendrik Baird Save to Instapaper
Baird Media is on the lookout for someone to help run the company. We wrote a brief that explained exactly what we’re looking for. We wrote it in a spirit of curiosity and collaboration. We wrote it so you could show us you can read. A few people did not read it. They sent CV’s instead. They are automatically disqualified. If they can’t follow a simple instruction (click the link) how can they be expected to successfully run a company like Baird Media.
This is not a typical job ad. It’s a call for applications to step into a hands-on role that will manage clients and grow the business with craft, care and clarity. It’s for someone who sees the full picture of marketing, sales, client experience, operations and culture. It’s for someone who thrives in a creative, people-centric environment and wants to build systems that support great work.
Applicants are invited to read Call for Applications (Not a Job Ad). Help Run Baird Media on baird.media and respond with thoughtful insight into how they would contribute to the company’s evolution. Sending a CV outright is not a valid response. The brief explains the kind of answers we want and the mindset we value. Those who ignored the brief have shown they don’t yet speak our language.
We believe the right person will understand the work we do, the clients we serve and the systems we need to make excellent outcomes repeatable. We value clarity of thought, plain language, ethical sales practice, operational curiosity and craft-driven delivery. If you can’t follow a basic instruction. If you send a CV without reading the brief. You have already disqualified yourself. We need someone who reads carefully. Thinks clearly. Responds with real ideas.
Interested applicants should apply by following the instructions in the original brief published on baird.media. Applications will be reviewed on merit of insight, alignment with values and ability to demonstrate practical approaches to the work at hand.
