Baird Media and SAPG Launch Podmaster™ Live – A 12-Part Workshop Series for South African Podcasters

Baird Media, in partnership with the South African Podcasters Guild (SAPG), is proud to announce the launch of Podmaster™ Live – a dynamic new in-person workshop series designed for aspiring and experienced podcasters alike.

Podmaster™ Live is a 12-part monthly event series hosted at Protea Ranch, a peaceful 40-seat venue located just 40 minutes from both Johannesburg and Pretoria. Surrounded by lush gardens and set within a nature conservancy, Protea Ranch provides the ideal environment for focused learning, reflection, and creative growth.

"Podmaster™ Live is where practical skills meet real people. It's not about fluff or theory – it's about giving South African podcasters the tools they need to make meaningful shows," says Hendrik Baird, co-founder of Baird Media.

Each month, participants will explore a new aspect of podcasting, from refining their voice and improving interview skills, to crafting a brand that sticks and monetising ethically. Sessions are highly practical, deeply collaborative, and built on years of professional experience through the Podmaster™ Academy.

The launch event, "What’s the Point?", will be held on 20 September 2025, and focuses on helping podcasters clarify their purpose and reconnect with their "why." Additional sessions in the series will cover topics such as hosting style, audience engagement, format selection, audio production, storytelling, editing, branding, and marketing.

"The Guild's mission is to uplift the South African podcast community," says Jonathan Warncke, CEO of SAPG. "This partnership with Baird Media offers our members access to hands-on, relevant training – delivered by people who actually work in the space."

Each session runs from 09h00 to 13h00, and includes tea/coffee, light snacks, and a hearty lunch with a vegetarian option.

The space is ideal for focused, non-disruptive events such as workshops, wellness retreats, and training.
