The next edition of the Sports Business Conference (SBC)-Series will be held on 5-7 March 2021 featuring both the Sports Business and the Sports Leadership editions, respectively.
SBC will aim to create interactive platforms for in-depth debates about the future outlook of the sport, as well as assessing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which also brought the world of sport, to stand still.
SBC will feature international and mainly, leading South African sport administration and business personalities, sharing their thought leadership on how sport should, put in place the best sustainable strategies, to ensure its future survival.
SBC will kick-off with the Sports Business Conference and Awards on Friday 5 March 2020 from 8am till 5pm and will be followed by the Sports Leadership Conference and Awards, taking place from 5-7 March 2020, respectively.
The Sports Business Conference, will also feature interviews with international sport administrators and key industry executives tackling topics like the lessons learnt during 2020 and especially how to manage modern day sport in a shrinking sponsorship environment, due to brands having had less income, as caused by both the pandemic and lockdowns.
The Sports Leadership Conference on the other hand, will focus on the new challenges faced by administrators, advancing the role of women in sport, aligning university sport with the broader demands in society, increased support for grassroots sport development and social change programmes, reviewing the National Sport and Recreation Plan (NSRP) as well as issues, pertaining to governance and ethics, respectively.
Both Conferences will also feature an Awards programme to bestow recognition upon administrators and industry executives alike for their unselfish endeavours, in this vibrant industry.
