Avis invests to strengthen its position in Southern Africa Car Hire Market

{pp}“While the South African car rental industry will continue to grow in 2008, growth levels are expected to be at a slightly lower rate than over the past two years”, says Avis Southern Africa MD, Wayne Duvenage.

Duvenage says Avis has grown its share of the car hire market over the past 6 months and expects to retain this share and continue to grow at the mid teens through 2008. “With major expansion plans underway and a brand new “state of the art” call centre in place, Avis is positioning itself for a busy future and the further strengthening of its brand promise “We try harder”,” he says.

SA Ballet Theatre promotions announced.

The South African Ballet Theatre’s Artistic Director, Ms Karen Beukes, has announced the promotion of the following SABT dancers:

Ms Sarah King is now ranked as a Senior Soloist while Ms Shannon Glover, Ms Gwen Barry and Mr Dion Page have all been promoted from Senior Corps de Ballet to Soloist ranking.

Ms Tammy Higgins and Ms Sanmarie Kreuzhuber have both been promoted from the Corps de Ballet to the Senior Corps de Ballet.

Ms Nicole Ferreira and Ms Claire Spector both successfully completed the SA Ballet Theatre’s Graduate programme in 2007 and have been accepted into the Company as members of the Corps de Ballet.

These promotions came into effect on January 21st when the Company resumed its rehearsals.
