Submitted by: Ian DickinsonThe Bay Harbour Market will be buzzing with birthday specials and exciting homegrown musical talent this weekend – so make sure you amble down to the bay and soak in the vibes!
Taking to the stage for Friday Nite LIVE! on July 27 is SA music legend Steve Van along with bass player and pianist Pete Stein. Steve has enjoyed success on the local music scene with various bands including Junglebook Vultures, Rust and the Vans. More recently, the acoustic rock pioneer has been working on a new album with Pete Stein that combines his past influences of folk, rock and blues with modern day pop and dance. Don’t miss these incomparable and popular SA musos.
On Saturday July 28, jazz band Cardigan Buzz are back on the Brampton Sound Stage to entertain audiences with their interesting blend of jazz, swing, folk and blues. Cardigan Buzz has enjoyed commercial success and local radio play with their original track ‘Meaning of You’ and they are regulars on the Western Cape music circuit. They are currently working on new material and plan to release an album in the near future.
The weekend draws to a close on July 29 with the sounds of Rebecca Helen. Rebecca is a singer/songwriter from Cape Town who has been performing on stage since the tender age of 6. Born into a musical family, her two sisters Vanessa Brink and Stephanie Marais are both music teachers and join her on stage in support of her original music. She is currently working on recording a demo CD.
This weekend also marks the end of the Bay Harbour Market’s exciting birthday month, so it’s the last chance you can take advantage of a variety of awesome trader specials - don’t miss out!
In addition to fantastic live music on the weekend, Bay Harbour will be launching their inaugural Comedy Supper Club on August 1st featuring popular funny men Rob van Vuuren, Marc Lottering and Mum-z.
