Groove to Live Music at the Bay Harbour Market This Weekend
Submitted by: Ian DickinsonHead to the Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay this weekend for a fantastic line-up of talented musical acts.
The Brampton Sound Stage comes alive for Friday Nite LIVE! on June 1st with the unmistakable, percussive sounds of Tombstone Pete. Formerly of Australian percussive acoustic guitar duo, The Codebreakers, Tombstone Pete created his attention-grabbing approach to percussive acoustic playing while busking throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK. He blends the acoustic styles of players such as Erik Mongrain, Andy McKee and Rodrigo y Gabriella with the raw energy of hard rock outfits like Rage Against the Machine, Tool and Incubus to create a high energy acoustic guitar performance which sets him apart from his contemporaries.
On Saturday June 2nd, Neil van der Walt takes to the stage with his repertoire of popular African songs and rhythms. Neil is a well-known bassist from the Garden Route who has performed with the likes of Steve Newman, Robin Auld and Wendy Oldfield. His creative use of live overdubbing and looping certainly makes for an exciting performance. He will be joined on stage by 19-year old, up-and-coming songstress Sharon Rose.
Sunday June 3rd features singer/songwriter Christian Castell with his distinctive blend of musical genres. Labeled ‘London Country’ by music enthusiasts, Christian’s songs are personal, controversial and often sarcastically witty. Christian has performed at the Barleycorn Music Club, the Purple Turtle, Aandklas & Dorp Street Theatre to name a few, and his performance is bound to entertain.
The Bay Harbour Market, Hout Bay also showcases over 100 stalls featuring arts, crafts, fashion, decor and delicious cuisine.
