Fresh Talent at The Bay Harbour Market This Weekend
Submitted by: Ian DickinsonWith performances from Amber Parr, The Jackson Vibe and Meri Kenaz, the Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay is the only place to be this weekend!
Kicking off the weekend for Friday Night LIVE! is fresh young musical talent Amber Parr. Amber started showing signs of musical ability when she was just 4 years old. Having recently returned from studying indigenous composition and arrangement in Indonesia, she is back in SA with a selection of beautiful songs she wrote on her travels. Amber will be joined on stage by her father Tim - a stalwart of the SA music scene. Tim Parr began his musical career in 1976 with the cult band Baxstop, and he has gone on to achieve recognition across the globe. This duo is bound to impress!
On Saturday May 12, local jazz band the Jackson Vibe takes to the Brampton Sound Stage. The members of this young outfit began their musical careers playing at a community church and have gone on to become popular Hout Bay regulars with their blend of jazz and swing.
The weekend draws to a close on Sunday afternoon with the sounds of vibrant, young singer-songwriter Meri Kenaz. Meri broke into the South African music scene in 2010 with her unique blend of folk and soul. With a voice that’s been described as ‘astounding’, this authentic SA artist performs with a complete dedication to the music and is definitely not to be missed.
The Bay Harbour Market, Hout Bay also showcases over 100 stalls featuring arts, crafts, fashion, decor and delicious cuisine.
