This popular clan of musos combine everything from acoustic folk to traditional Irish music to produce a sound that is truly unique and experimental. Well-renowned for their theatrical performances and sensational live shows, this is one act you don’t want to miss!
On Saturday June 16, jazz band Cardigan Buzz are back on the Brampton Sound Stage by popular demand to entertain audiences with their interesting blend of jazz, swing, folk and blues. Cardigan Buzz has enjoyed commercial success and local radio play with their original track ‘Meaning of You’ and they are regulars on the Western Cape music circuit. They are currently working on new material and plan to release an album in the near future.
There’s a special treat in store for dads on Sunday June 17 with South African music legends Lionel Bastos and Wendy Oldfield. Lionel Bastos has written and produced songs for global artists and causes such as Yvonne Chaka-Chaka, Little sister, Clout and Vicky Samson to name a few. Regarded as a true musical genius, his music encompasses a range of genres. Wendy Oldfield is a stalwart of the SA music scene. She rose to fame with the release of her award-winning debut album ‘Beautiful World’ in 1992 and has gone on to achieve recognition locally and internationally. This is not to be missed!
In-between the live music make the most of our Father’s Day specials on offer this weekend; treat dad to a spicy coconut lemongrass chicken soup from Zoop! or grab a scrumptious traditional breakfast or burger from Paula’s Pantry; get an extra shot of espresso in any large flat white cappuccino or latte at Z.A Café or pop into Everson’s Cider for a special 360ml treat (apple or pear) with a memento Everson’s Cider glass. You’ll never run out of things to do, see, taste and take home at the Bay Harbour Market, Hout Bay – the ideal place to spend some time with dad this Father’s Day!
