School’s Out – And the Big Screen Is Filled with Fabulous Things

It’s 'me time' for kids as schools close for the third term holidays – and that means movie time! Ster-Kinekor is bringing non-stop, big-screen entertainment with exciting films featuring robots, transformers, and animals, including a panda bear. Holiday Highlights

Kicking off the fun on Friday, 20 September, is the delightful animated film, The Wild Robot, showing in IMAX. The movie follows an intelligent robot, Roz, stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose. Starring the voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, and others, this heartwarming story teaches that sometimes, we must become more than we were programmed to be.Watch the trailer here.

On Friday, 27 September, animated robots transform the IMAX screen with Transformers One. The film tells the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, once close friends whose choices changed the fate of Cybertron forever. Also on 27 September, the adventure continues with Panda Bear in Africa, where a young panda travels from China to Africa to rescue his kidnapped friend. Along the way, he discovers strange new animals and the beauty of mountains, deserts, and jungles.Watch the trailer here.
