Get Funky at Bay Harbour Market this Weekend
Submitted by: Ian DickinsonHOUT BAY, WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA, 6 MARCH 2013: Head to the harbour this weekend for some retro-funk, a spot of latin jazz and a wealth of delicious treats and goods for sale.
Bringing their blend of blues, soul, funk and disco to the stage on Friday, March 8th is Cape Town band Harri and the Honkeys. Formed in 2010, this retro-funk band consists of an accomplished line-up of talented musicians and has played at some of the Peninsula’s top venues. “Our show and repertoire strikes a chord with audiences that appreciate great music and danceable hits.” Don’t miss them at the market this weekend!
On Saturday March 9th, eclectic jazz band Nossa Vida brings a blend of well-known jazz standards, bossa novas, Spanish guitar pieces, originals and Portuguese traditional songs to the stage. The acoustic guitar duo, comprised of Keith Macfarlane and Alan Bowen (Father and son-in-law), is no stranger to the stage and should add to a blissful, relaxed Saturday at Bay Harbour.
As well as awesome live music, the Bay Harbour Market houses over 100 stalls featuring arts, crafts, fashion, decor and delicious cuisine.
NOTE: The market will be closed on Sunday, March 10th due to the Cape Argus Cycle Tour.
