Bay Harbour Market is the place where both the local fisherman and the well-heeled fashionista can be found. It’s a place where koeksisters, crayfish, chakkalakka, umnqusho, smoked snoek, oysters, cappuccino, bunny chows, and ‘methode champenoise’ live side by side with fashionable leathercraft, accessories, clothing, beadwork and art - a celebration of our cultural and creative diversity. Freedom Day Weekend on the Bay Harbour Sound Stage promises musical performances from Paige Mac, The Rivertones and Mojave Crossing, while patrons eat, drink, shop and unwind. On the Friday, April 26, see Universal Music-backed outfit Paige Mac in action with Paige MacMahon, the song-writing, guitar-playing vocalist, Garry Van Vuuren on bass, djembe and cowbell and Marcus Christiansen on drums. Paige Mac is taking the SA music scene by storm with their authentic and unique sound influenced by the likes of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone.On the Saturday, April 27 watch popular Cape Town reggae band The Rivertones. Performing since the tender age of 12, famed front-man Roland Nair has jammed with the likes of “The Wailers” (Bob Marley’s band). On the Sunday, April 28 entertaining audiences is collaborative duo Mojave Crossing, consisting of classically-trained flautist and saxophonist Heather Roth and guitarist James Kibby, best known for his performances with popular local band Acid Blues.
