Catch Nik Rabinowitz at Bay Harbour Comedy Club
Submitted by: Ian DickinsonIf you know what is good for you, get down to Bay Harbour Comedy Club on Wednesday 5 December. They say that laughter is the best form of medicine and you will get bucket loads from this cracking line up! And the line-up is Nik Rabinowitz headlining the evening with host Martin Davis and support act Carl Weber.
Headliner, Nik Rabinowitz is tall and gangly, has an impish grin, generous ears and is immediately hilarious. He was raised on the mean, green streets of Constantia, Cape Town, in a world of ride-bys, piano lessons, and unrelenting love and financial support from family members. Nick is South Africa's only Jewish-Xhosa speaking comedian and a coup to the Comedy Club. Not to be missed!
Host, Martin Davis' interactions with an audience are legendary and form the backdrop and the vast majority of his set. His heavy cockney accent only enhances his wicked wit. It's the one-liners he comes up with to dismiss a heckler or an errant waiter who wonders through his stage - a combination of wicked wit and a razor sharp ability to handle people in an instant - that really makes his set.
Support act Carl Weber is our Bloemfontein-born comedian and was the Graça Comedy Showdown winner. He has a warm and charming stage persona with an ability to change between English and Afrikaans giving him a bilingual confidence that resonates not only in his material but also in his strong stage presence. He is fast becoming one of the best support acts in Cape Town.
So treat your family and friends to this unbeatable line-up of enormous talent!
