Submitted by: Ian DickinsonVersatile rock band Ann Jangle hits the Bay Harbour Sound Stage for Friday Nite LIVE! Hugo, The Human Jukebox, is set to entertain audiences on Saturday and on Sunday; while the Valentino Europa Project delivers a classical style of jazz music on Sunday.
Friday Nite LIVE! 15 November – Ann Jangle
Kicking off the weekend vibe at Bay Harbour Market for Friday Nite LIVE! is Cape Town’s very own Ann Jangle. Influenced by the likes of blues-greats Robert Johnson and Etta James, blended with the rocking sounds of J.J. Cale and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds; with a versatility that combines blues and rock with a touch of 40’s swing, Ann Jangle is steadily making their distinctive mark on the South African music scene.
“Ann Jangle is quite frankly one of the finest front women you will see, furiously strumming at her guitar and singing in a wild, deep voice. Bassist Nozome Brink looks on, grinning, never missing a beat.” – LMG Magazine
Saturday 16 November - Hugo the Human Jukebox
Entertaining visitors with his versatility is Mr Hugo “The Human Jukebox” Kleinhans. Any song, any style - if he’s heard it, he’ll sing it. Great entertainment for the whole family!
Sunday 17 November – Valentino Europa Project
Bassist Valentino Europa and friends take to the Bay Harbour Stage on Sunday with their classical jazz. A talented double bassist, Tino has played with the likes of Abdullah Ebrahim, Alvin Dyers and the Cape Town Jazz Orchestra to name but a few.
Visitors to the market can look forward to exploring the range of unique gifts and art for sale, while taking time out to taste from the huge collect of craft beers and food on offer.
