Wild Coast Sun Introduces Bubz The Buzz To Delight Families And Holidaymakers This Easter

Meet the resort’s irresistibly cute new mascot
This Easter, visitors to Wild Coast Sun will get to meet Bubz – or Bubz The Buzz, to give him his full name – who can’t wait to share all the fun of an endless summer.
The resort’s new mascot is larger than life, irresistibly cute and loveable, bursting with sunshiny yellow energy. With his bright beautiful smile, expressive eyes, and soft, huggable fluff, Bubz was made to make people happy. And the best part? Bubz chose Wild Coast Sun as his forever home.
Born at Sun International Head Office, Bubz was given the choice as to where he wanted to live. After exploring far and wide, he found the warmth, laughter, and sunny spirit of the Wild Coast and knew right away it’s where he belongs. “This is where I shine,” he says. Every wave, every dance, every appearance is Bubz’s mission to spread happiness and create magical memories for guests of all ages.
Bubz represents joy as he interacts with families, children, day visitors, holidaymakers, event guests, casino guests, MVGs, social media followers, and staff. He’s there to welcome everyone to the resort, and will be involved in children’s activities, events, concerts, and casino floor surprises.
How does the Easter Bunny feel about all this, you may ask as you pack your family into the car for a traditional long weekend at the Wild Coast Sun? “There can be only one of me,” he said, “but I’m happy to welcome Bubz to the team and I know he’s all about spreading cheer and happiness, and we can always do with more of that,” said Bunny.
There you have it: Easter will still be Easter with all the egg hunts and hot cross bubz – sorry we mean buns – you can handle.
And as tradition has it, the beach will come alive from Easter Friday throughout the long weekend with a lineup of classic beach games. Families can look forward to limbo challenges, beach soccer, beach volleyball, a hula hoops showdown and tug of war, bringing plenty of friendly competition and seaside fun for all ages.
Wild Coast Sun is not only about the high days and holidays – there is so much for guests and visitors to do all year round.
Take a guided tour on the river on board a double-decker boat, or if you don’t mind getting your hair wet, make a splash at the Wild Waves Water Park. Other water-based activities include stand-up paddle boarding or sit-down paddle boating, canoeing, kayaking, or an eco-adventure on a speedboat to explore the unspoilt coastline of the river that forms the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape provinces. For a relaxing day on dry land that is river-adjacent, fishermen can cast out their lines in the hopes of reeling in bronze bream, rock cod, and other fish. Guests can rent rods or are welcome to bring their own.
When all the fun’s been done, unwind with a cocktail at the Riverside Aqua Sports Beach Bar and tuck into burgers, boerewors rolls, hot dogs, and bacon and eggs rolls.
Over at the Wild Waves Water Park, you’ll find rides and pools for adults, children and toddlers. From adrenalin junkies to moderate thrill seekers, and those that like to gently cruise down the Lazy River or lounge around with a book (massages are even an option) – there really is something for everyone. For those not staying at the hotel, day tickets are available.
Not into the water vibes? We’ve got you, fam. The Aloha Village inside the resort offers ten pin bowling and arcade games, golf enthusiasts can tee off at the picturesque championship course, or head indoors meet Lady Luck at the gaming tables.
If keeping active is more your style, the resort’s new padel courts are ready for some friendly competition, whether you are a seasoned player or keen to try something new. The newly upgraded gym has also been relocated to a convenient spot near the padel courts, making it even easier to fit in a workout while you are away. After all, a little exercise means you have earned that Easter treat.
Need a bit more adrenaline? Choose from three quad biking tours into the 750 hectares of lush indigenous bush around the resort. Whether you have ridden a quad bike before or have zero experience, the tours cater for the proficient as well as beginners. Knowledgeable tour guides provide the group with a quick lesson before you head out.
When you’re all worn out by the excitement, discover the variety of flavours and cuisine at Wild Coast Sun’s restaurants and bars. You can grab a quick bite to eat at a fast food store or indulge in a meal with an Indian Ocean backdrop at the various sit-down restaurants, suited for every taste and occasion.
