Full circle moment as Bryan O’Connor returns to Time Square as GM

More than 20 years’ experience in the gambling and casino industry defines the required leadership qualities for this role
With a career spanning more than two decades in the business, Bryan O’Connor has returned to Time Square as General Manager, after two years in that role at Carnival City.
A Career Built On Industry Expertise
Adept at leadership, gaming, and hospitality, with a strong ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving strategic business objectives within a dynamic casino environment, O’Connor began his career as a training officer at Sugar Mill Casino in KwaZulu Natal.
In 2017 he moved to the newly-built Time Square Casino complex in Pretoria, where he played an integral role in setting up the F&B Department. By 2020 he was promoted to Operations Manager of the unit.
Leadership Across Major Casino Operations
O’Connor moved to Carnival City as General Manager in May 2024, gaining valuable experience and demonstrating a strong ability to inspire and motivate teams. Under his leadership, the team showed meaningful progress in innovation and problem-solving within the ever-evolving gaming environment.
Qualifications And Vision
O’Connor has a National Diploma in Hospitality Management as well as a BTech HRD Degree in Human Resource Development.
He says, “I am honoured to be stepping into this position, and I look forward to working alongside the team at Time Square to ensure that we go above and beyond meeting the expectations of our guests.
“In my spare time I enjoy long distance running, and the reward that comes from setting and then achieving my goals and targets.”
