Nine years in, and Time Square is still on a winning streak

Nine years in, Time Square is not slowing down. Since opening its doors in 2017, the complex has paid out a staggering R2.4 billion in jackpots. In the last year alone, more than R219 million has been awarded to lucky winners, which averages out to more than R18.2 million in payouts every single month. This consistent momentum and the frequent sound of the mega jackpot siren are clear reflections of the vibrant energy on the casino floor.
“Time Square has built real momentum over the past nine years, and what stands out is the consistency of that growth,” says newly appointed General Manager Bryan O’Connor. “From the casino floor to the arena and conferencing spaces, the focus is on delivering at scale while still maintaining a high standard of experience for every guest.”
A Destination That Continues to Grow
From gaming and international arena acts to dining, conferencing, and upmarket accommodation, Time Square has grown into one of Gauteng’s most dynamic destinations, where scale and experience go hand in hand. Located opposite Menlyn Maine Mall, the precinct offers something for every kind of visitor.
Families are drawn to The Magic Company, a vibrant arcade space featuring everything from racing games to AR experiences, alongside ten-pin bowling with UV lighting, while Tick Tocks Crèche provides supervised childcare.
World-Class Entertainment at Scale
On a bigger stage, the 8 500 seat Sunbet Arena continues to attract major international and local performers. Recent acts include Bryan Adams, UB40, Doja Cat, and Boyz II Men in 2026, following standout performances by Kenny G and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance in 2025. These large-scale events have become a defining part of Time Square’s identity, bringing global entertainment to Pretoria.
A Leading Business and Events Hub
Beyond entertainment, Time Square has established itself as a serious business destination. Throughout 2025, the venue hosted more than 1,200 groups and events, welcoming a total of more than 22,500 guests. These figures, which include large-scale Arena bookings, underline the complex's capacity to operate at scale without compromising on the professional experience.
Its conference facilities, located just 10 minutes from Lynnwood, are designed for flexibility and efficiency, offering state-of-the-art technology and adaptable spaces suited to everything from executive meetings to large-scale events.
Flexible Accommodation and Dining
The Time Square Hotel adds another layer to the experience. As the only hotel in South Africa offering three, four, and five-star rooms under one roof, it gives guests the flexibility to choose a stay that suits both their needs and their budget. This unique multi-tier model, recognised by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, reflects a broader focus on accessibility without compromising on quality.
Dining is equally considered. Across three levels, Time Square’s restaurants can collectively seat close to 2600 guests, offering a wide range of options from quick meals to more refined dining experiences. Partnering with established names in the food industry, the precinct delivers variety at scale, while maintaining a consistent standard across its kitchens.
Sustained Momentum
What sets Time Square apart is not just what it offers, but how it delivers it. From the constant movement on the casino floor to sold-out arena shows and high-volume conferences, it operates with a level of momentum that continues to build year after year.
Nine years on, Time Square is not just celebrating a milestone, it is continuing to build a winning run.
