Melvis Wachira, who was appointed the Bosch Rexroth Kenya Sales Manager in September 2020, has been promoted to Bosch Rexroth Kenya Country Manager effective 1 December 2020.
Wachira underwent a year-long training programme in Germany under the Afrika Kommt initiative prior to joining the Bosch Rexroth Group of Companies. This, in combination with her bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics and experience in heading the sales in the country, made her one of the ideal candidates for the position.
When joining the Group in September last year, Wachira specified that one of her goals was to help build a bridge between Germany and Africa. “As Country Manager for Kenya, I am now in an even better position to achieve this goal,” she points out.
“We wish Melvis, who has the full support of the Bosch Rexroth Group, every success in her new role,” said Bosch Rexroth Regional Director East Africa Mike Harrison.
The training, Afrika Kommt! is a German industry initiative for future leaders from Africa. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the programme on behalf of the private sector initiative. It is supported by the German Federal Office and the German embassies in Africa and is aimed at assisting young African managers have insight into German companies’ work processes and methods.
