Steinmüller Africa Invests in Education at Two Mpumalanga Schools
Written by: CubicICE Save to Instapaper
Continuing its commitment to uplifting local communities, Steinmüller Africa is improving schools in Evander and eMalahleni, Mpumalanga. Equipment and renovations have been donated to both schools, with the school in Evander still undergoing refurbishment. These schools were strategically selected, ensuring the company’s contributions directly benefit residents in areas central to Steinmüller Africa’s plant maintenance operations.
Enhancements at Emdibini Combined School
Emdibini Combined School in Evander received two water tanks, solar panel installations, upgraded electric wiring, and a new storage facility to improve daily functionality. The company is currently refurbishing dilapidated classrooms and customising playgrounds for learners. Mpho Mafela, Steinmüller Africa’s Communications Officer, remarked, “We hope our contribution will make the school a conducive space for effective teaching and learning.”
Apprentices Lead Project at Mmagobana Combined School
At Mmagobana Combined School in eMalahleni, a playground was designed and built by a team of apprentices from Steinmüller Africa’s Technical Training Centre. As part of the company's purpose-driven strategy, the apprentices managed the entire project, from sourcing materials to construction. They gained valuable hands-on experience in fabrication and welding while deepening their understanding of Steinmüller Africa’s community upliftment initiatives. The playground, featuring a swing set and slide, was completed in April 2024.
Lasting Community Benefits
The donations to these schools will provide lasting benefits for both communities. Moso Bolofo, Director of Steinmüller Africa, stated, “By investing in education, we help drive society forward. Steinmüller Africa is proud to shape a brighter future for the communities we serve.”
These projects follow Steinmüller Africa’s previous initiatives, such as the extensive renovations at schools in Bethal and Kriel, which have already made a significant difference in those communities.
