Bosch Rexroth Africa Development (BRAD), a Bosch Rexroth South Africa Group company, has appointed AETOS Technical Services (AETOS) as an official distributor in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. AETOS and Bosch Rexroth Africa Development signed a distribution agreement in January 2023, which allows AETOS to sell and support all the products and technologies in the Bosch Rexroth South Africa portfolio.
AETOS is a leading provider of industrial components and solutions to various sectors and industries, including oil and gas, marine, power generation, mining, and cement. The company has been dealing with Bosch Rexroth Ghana since 2019 and has grown its knowledge of the market and product range Bosch Rexroth South Africa has to offer. AETOS has a dedicated sales team to specifically focus on Bosch Rexroth Africa Development’s growth.
According to Louis Potter, BRAD’s Business Development Manager, the distribution partnership is a strategic move to expand BRAD's presence and reach into Nigeria and West Africa. "The Nigerian government is driving towards localisation of sourcing, which is done to promote locally owned companies. AETOS, being a local company in Nigeria, opens the door for BRAD to do business in Nigeria with a sales partner that knows local markets, legislation, and laws," he said.
Potter added that AETOS will focus predominantly on the oil and gas sector, which is growing rapidly in West Africa. "The Bosch Rexroth South Africa product line fits perfectly with their current offering of industrial component supplies. AETOS has supplied major oil and gas companies with various mechanical components and, therefore, our offering is complimentary to that of AETOS," he said.
AETOS will also support other sectors and industries, such as processing and packaging, electricity supply companies, cement, and sugar factories, among others. AETOS now has access to all products and services Bosch Rexroth South Africa has to offer, which consists of hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives and controls, linear motion and assembly technologies, tightening systems, and service solutions. To further solidify their footprint, AETOS has invested in a hose and fitting workshop to service the local market with hose and fitting assemblies.
To ensure quality and customer satisfaction, BRAD conducts continuous training with AETOS personnel on product and process-specific topics. The training is conducted virtually by various specialists from different departments within the BRSA Group. AETOS will also leverage its technical expertise and solutions to promote and sell Bosch Rexroth South Africa products and services.
The distribution agreement between BRAD and AETOS will benefit both parties as well as the industries they serve. Potter said that BRAD is looking forward to working with AETOS as a long-term partner in Nigeria. "We are confident that AETOS will deliver our solutions with excellence and professionalism. We are excited to explore the opportunities and value that this partnership will create for us and our customers," he said.
