Accuride increases load rating and improves sensorial experience on its 9300 slide range

Tectra Automation, part of the Hytec Group and sole sub-Saharan Africa distributor of Accuride industrial and draw slides, has announced its new stockholding of the Accuride 9300 slides with increased load rating. Accuride, the USA-based global experts in movement solution design, has increased the load rating in this slide series by 20% – up to 272 kg, and improved their sensorial movement.
Accuride has increased the material gauge for both the inner and outer members of slides in this range, increased the number of ball bearings and improved the ball retainer design. In addition to the increased load rating, other enhancements to this range include silenced operation and smoother movement, making them ideal for industrial racks, ATM machines, tool carts and pull-out compartments on emergency and utility vehicles.
Accuride industrial slides are proven to provide precise linear motion to any application, and the company’s goal is to deliver the best movement solutions globally. With this in mind, the 9300 series slides have been enhanced to include extra-heavy load rating, full extension, 19.1 mm side space, non-disconnect and the ability to accommodate drawers up to 1 067 mm wide. Even lengths of seven variations are available in a clear zinc finish, from 245 mm to 1 524 mm.
“A common problem with ball bearing slides is inching or ball migration,” points out Julie van den Berg, Key Account Manager, Tectra Automation. “This is a condition where the ball retainers in the slides move at different speeds and distances, causing them to get out of synch with each other and the slide members they support. Accuride has overcome this by redesigning the 9300 bridge retainer to keep the spacer parallel, reducing ball migration.”
The engineering of these heavy-duty slides is the result of more than 10 000 hours of re-engineering. The upshot is a stronger, smoother and longer-lasting heavy duty industrial slide, backed by Accuride’s limited lifetime warranty.
