Renewable Energy Stakeholders Recharged at We'RE Connected Spring Social
Written by: Marie Le Roux Save to InstapaperOn Friday, 3 October, stakeholders from across the renewable energy value chain enjoyed an unusual networking opportunity at the We'RE Connected Spring Social.
With a sumptuous lunch at the Red Ox restaurant, ample opportunity to meet, and an inspiring leadership talk, guests enthusiastically built new relationships before ending the day with a sunset cruise on the Orange River.
Guests spanned the spectrum of the renewable energy value chain that has been transforming the Northern Cape. From green energy project teams to community development, coaching, health services and consultancies, the event was an opportunity to build bridges and open dialogue beyond everyday industry silos.
We’RE Connected is a non-profit company that exists to reimagine the energy industry from the inside out — with people at the centre. Inclusivity is at the heart of the organisation, which initially served only women but has grown to support all under-represented groups in the renewable energy landscape. In her welcome,
Kalnisha Singh, director of We'RE Connected, emphasised the value of bringing together stakeholders from across the renewable energy value chain. The range of guests demonstrated the impact of the industry on Upington and its surroundings.
Guest speaker Ian Hatton's insights from his international career in leadership development evoked inspired responses from rising leaders.
Stakeholders remarked on the quality of the new connections, the value of taking time to refresh their perspective, and the impact the resulting conversations had on them.
In addition to occasional in-person events, We'RE Connected (NPC) also provides regular online gatherings and mentorship opportunities for rising leaders in renewable energy with an inclusive focus. More details are available at https://wereconnected.org.
