JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – June 26, 2025 – Decision-makers navigating the nation's development and infrastructure landscape have applauded yesterday's online launch of "Beyond the Blueprint: Strategic Lessons from South Africa’s Energy Infrastructure Projects".
Released on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Freedom Charter, the highly anticipated white paper aims to address and rectify recurring pitfalls in the country’s development projects. Author Kalnisha Singh, award-winning development economist and founder of KD Strategies, delivered a compelling overview of lessons learned over more than two decades spanning multiple sectors.
“We’re giving away insights we’ve earned the hard way - so others don’t have to make the same mistakes,” says Singh. “Because if we want better outcomes, we need to learn from the past, share what we know, and do things differently.”
Attendees expressed immediate value from the session. “Plenty to digest and think about,” remarked an attendee from the leadership of an educational foundation. An attending director in the development space commented: "I really enjoyed those three insights. I feel really excited to read more when the case studies come out.”
