Plastics SA is excited to announce the appointment of Lazola Pendu as its new Sustainability Project Coordinator, based in the Maitland office in Cape Town. With a strong background in environmental sciences and a passion for waste management, Lazola brings valuable expertise to the company.
Raised in East London, Eastern Cape, Lazola completed his high school education at East London Secondary School in 2008 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Venda. Prior to joining Plastics SA, he gained significant experience at Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and Rhodes University, where he focused on circular economy learning pathways.
In his new role, Lazola looks forward to collaborating with diverse individuals to develop innovative solutions for sustainability. “The most exciting aspect of joining Plastics SA's sustainability division is the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life, sharing ideas on how we can better care for our planet, the ‘Mother’ we call home,” he stated.
Outside of his professional commitments, Lazola enjoys cooking and exploring new dishes, as well as hiking. He cherishes time spent with his family, valuing the memories created with loved ones above all else.
Plastics SA is confident that Lazola's dedication and experience will drive impactful sustainability initiatives, helping to shape a greener future for all.
