Afroteq Advisory, a division of the AFMS Group, is an integrated multidisciplinary consulting firm offering project management, advisory and training services to the built environment sector. We are proud to announce the appointment of Seipati Leboko as the Business Unit Head of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment in Gauteng.
Seipati is a seasoned SHEQ Manager and Consultant with a National Diploma in Safety Management. She has worked in various industries in the Occupational Health and Safety space, including electrical engineering in substations, construction, warehousing and consulting.
Her career stretches over 15 years and has allowed her hands-on experience in a broad scope of functions and activities – ranging from designing Health and Safety Strategies, Management Plans and Systems, to ensuring their implementation at all levels. She has guided management on adaptive approaches to incorporate SHEQ, making sure that they adhere to applicable laws and industry standards.
"I am grateful to have received a solid education and training in a wide range of related fields, including a National Diploma in Safety Management, short courses on self-development, Samtrac, Modern SHEQ and Risk Management, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, and other relevant topics. I am currently pursuing a NEBOSH International Diploma to enhance my skill set further. All of this has given me a strong foundation in the intricacies of occupational health and safety, which I apply in my work environment. I am proud to have significantly reduced workplace occurrences by putting proactive safety measures, employee training programmes and continuous improvement procedures into place," she says.
Commenting on her new position at Afroteq Advisory, Seipati says her desire to work in a safe and healthy environment, combined with her professional expertise, inspired her to apply for the Head of Occupational Health Safety and Environment position. Given her wealth of knowledge in occupational health and safety and her strong interest in environmental sustainability, she felt she could make a substantial contribution to the company's efforts to meet regulatory obligations and foster a culture of environmental responsibility and safety.
She has a deep appreciation for the culinary arts and enjoys watching cooking shows and home improvement programmes. She explains that there is something satisfying about witnessing the transformation of spaces, from design concepts to the final reveal.
"I am very excited about the new and exciting opportunities awaiting me as part of the Afroteq team. I have been very impressed by the company's dedication to excellence. I am grateful to be part of a forward-thinking business that prioritises the health, safety and environmental sustainability of its workers and community.
I look forward to contributing my experience to ensure Afroteq's continued success and expansion," Seipati concludes.
