Breaking records and building up youngsters - Clint Seller’s vision for King Price Xtreme

For King Price Xtreme team leader and veteran superbike rider Clint Seller, racing isn’t only about continuing to cross the finish line first.
“I’m defending my ZX10 Masters Cup title again this year, but my goal is to break my previous lap records,” he says. “It’s easy to become complacent, but I want to show how much more we can get out of our bikes. Every second counts, and every lap is an opportunity to push harder.” And, for Clint, this drive isn’t just personal; it sets the tone for the entire team.
Preparation for the season starts long before the first race day. Clint’s training regimen blends modern technology with traditional methods, with his office-bound Zwift stationary bike keeping him fit and sharp every day, and laps on his 150cc training bike honing bike control and mental focus. He also challenges his body in new ways through weekly Pilates sessions, a discipline he admits is “crazy hard”. These varied training methods don’t just improve his own performance; they allow him to lead the younger team members by example.
Mentorship is central to Clint’s approach. Rising stars like team member Cayden Robert are transitioning to bigger bikes, and Clint’s extensive experience with the 600cc machine is invaluable. “I want to guide them, not just to chase overseas dreams, but to make a real career racing here in South Africa,” he says.
Clint’s commitment extends beyond technical guidance. He’s emotionally invested in the development of riders like Cayden and his brother Blake, providing coaching, insight, and the encouragement needed to thrive in this physically demanding sport.
He also emphasises discipline, consistency, and mindset. The 2026 season will see other teams stepping up, and he’s using this as fuel. “Knowing that our competition is trying even harder to beat us motivates me to push even more,” he says. “There are always challenges that come out of nowhere but, as a team, we’re prepared. This is what King Price Xtreme enables for us: Financial backing, and a professional environment where we can face obstacles head-on and still come out stronger.”
Family remains Clint’s anchor and inspiration. Having his wife and daughters trackside is the highlight of every race weekend. “Seeing them cheer me on reminds me why I do this,” he explains. “It’s not just about winning for myself, it’s about showing my family, and the younger riders, that dedication, hard work, and belief in yourself pay off.”
Looking beyond personal success, Clint is passionate about shaping the sport in South Africa. He sees 2026 as a pivotal year for initiatives like Motorsport South Africa’s Short Circuit GP Series, aimed at developing young talent nationally, saying that encouraging young riders to make a career in racing strengthens the sport for everyone. By mentoring, training, and working with the industry to create opportunities, Clint is ensuring that superbike racing continues to grow.
With his unmatched experience, relentless drive, and deep commitment to the future of racing, Clint is more than a 13-time champion on the track and more, even, than an international legend. He’s a cornerstone of the King Price Xtreme team, proving time and again that success doesn’t only come from winning: “True success really shows up in helping young riders take their place on the podium.”
