Marketing skills successfully applied to a strong personal brand and journey - Wild Coast Sun is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Cynthia Dumakude, who has been crowned Ms Transcontinental 2026 after representing Africa at the international pageant held in the US. She also happens to be Resort Marketing Manager at Wild Coast Sun.
Dumakude’s journey to the global stage began when she won the Mrs Bold title in 2024, a platform that amplified her passion for women’s empowerment and community upliftment. Her victory not only celebrated her personal excellence but also showcased the quality, grace, and leadership cultivated by the Mrs Bold platform. Through this role, she led impactful initiatives including Easter drive, school shoe drives, dignity packs, wheelchair donations, winter warmth campaigns, and youth-focused empowerment programmes.
Now holding an international title, Dumakude continues to embody resilience, authenticity, and leadership qualities that reflect the spirit of both Sun International and Wild Coast Sun.
With more than a decade of marketing experience, Dumakude strategically positioned and marketed herself throughout her pageant journey. She built a strong, purpose-driven personal brand through consistent storytelling, community engagement and social media visibility skills that now enhance her contribution to Wild Coast Sun’s marketing efforts.
Her learnings particularly around brand authenticity, consistency, and purpose-led content bring fresh insights that complement Sun International’s broader marketing ambitions.
From growing up in a rural village to earning an international crown, Dumakude’s journey is a powerful reminder that success comes from vision, discipline, and perseverance. As a single mother, her achievement resonates deeply with many South Africans, who see in her a symbol of hope, courage, and possibility.
“This win is not just for me, it’s for every woman who has ever doubted her strength,” says Dumakude. “I'm honoured to represent Africa and to bring this story home to my Wild Coast Sun family.”
Wild Coast Sun General Manager, Tshegetso Boekhouer expressed immense pride in Dumakude’s accomplishment: “Cynthia’s achievement is a shining example of what dedication, passion, and perseverance can produce. She is not only a remarkable ambassador for Africa on the global stage but also a proud representative of Wild Coast Sun. We are inspired by her journey and celebrate the positive impact she continues to make within our organisation and beyond.”
Helen Stewart, Chief Marketing Officer at Sun International, shared her admiration for Dumakude’s growth, discipline, and leadership: “Cynthia’s story is one of resilience, ambition and true transformation. She has shown how powerful authentic branding and consistent storytelling can be not only in her personal journey, but in how she approaches her work in marketing. Her achievement reflects the excellence we strive for at Sun International and we are proud to support and celebrate her success.”
Dumakude extends her gratitude to the leadership and colleagues at Sun International and Wild Coast Sun for their continued encouragement. She also thanks her community partners, sponsor and supporters who contributed to her growth and empowerment initiatives.
“My journey has taught me that our stories matter, not because they are perfect, but because they show what is possible when we refuse to give up. I hope my achievement reminds every woman, every young girl and every mother juggling life and responsibility that your dreams are still valid. This is only the beginning and I am committed to using my platform to uplift, empower and inspire wherever I go.”
