An Exciting New Season of NT Live Theatre at Cinema Nouveau Draws to a Close

An extraordinary season of world-class plays, filmed live from London’s finest theatres, is concluding at select Ster-Kinekor and Cinema Nouveau locations at the end of November. The NT Live series has brought innovative productions to South African cinema screens, allowing theatre enthusiasts to experience Britain’s best playwrights, directors, and actors in a cinematic setting.

Final Production of the Season: NYE

The season wraps up with the NT Live production of NYE, releasing on 30 November and running for four screenings only.

In this brilliant production, Michael Sheen portrays Nye Bevan, the architect of Britain’s welfare state and founder of the NHS. NYE is a surreal journey through Bevan’s life, revisiting key moments from his childhood in the mines to his fierce political battles.

Written by Tim Price and directed by Rufus Norris (Small Island), this epic Welsh fantasia was filmed live at the National Theatre and is set to captivate audiences with its compelling storytelling and spectacular visuals.

  • 30 November, 1 December, 4 December, and 5 December

  • Ster-Kinekor Brooklyn (Pretoria)
