Inflation at all-time high - SA desperate for more income opportunities
Submitted by: We Rise Communications Save to InstapaperSouth Africans have experienced a hefty 32% decrease in their income according to recent TransUnion stats. Combined with interest rate hikes and documented rising cost of essential items, South Africans are looking for income opportunities such as Multi-level Marketing or direct selling to make it to their next payday.
First National Bank (FNB) estimates it takes an average of five days for middle-income consumers to spend up to 80 percent of their monthly salary. “More ‘month’ at the end of their money has become common in South African households. Many find the need to supplement monthly earnings through trusted sources of income”, says Brandon Masondo, DSA Vice Chairperson and Africa Expansion Director.
Over 870 000 South Africans are successfully direct selling as a side hustle or primary source of income through a DSA vetted member company. With low barriers to entry, minimal risk, flexible working hours, no formal education required, and training provided, direct selling becomes a viable income and entrepreneurial opportunity for the masses.
DSA is in discussion with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development to partner with the DSA and its member companies as a part of the economic solution in our country and to address the impact of unemployment, predominantly in townships. Our goal is to provide opportunities to those struggling in the current financial climate.
