Empact Group, a purpose-driven leader in catering, cleaning, and integrated facilities management solutions in Southern Africa, recently celebrated its commitment to employee well-being with a highly successful Employee Wellness Day. Held across its regional offices in KwaZulu-Natal, Cape Town, Gqeberha, and Gauteng, the event showcased the company’s dedication to fostering a healthy and thriving workforce.
A Culture of Wellness at Empact Group
“Nurturing a culture of wellness is central to Empact Group’s ethos,” says CEO Alan Quinn.
“At Empact Group, our motto, ‘We do right by you,’ extends far beyond our clients. It is a promise we make to our employees—to foster a supportive environment that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The success of our business is inherently tied to the health and happiness of our people, and it is our responsibility as an employer to create opportunities that enable them to thrive.”
A Day of Health and Engagement
The day began with a stretching session led by Alan Quinn, followed by a high-energy 3km corporate walk. Employees then participated in a series of wellness activities aimed at improving overall health, including:
- Health screenings facilitated by Discovery Health and Mobicare, offering insights into employees’ physical well-being.
- Blood donation drives, hosted by the South African National Blood Service, allowing employees to contribute to a lifesaving cause while caring for their health.
- Financial wellness talks by FNB and Momentum, highlighting the importance of financial stability in achieving a balanced life.
The day also featured fun, interactive activities like the Blendavenda Smoothie Bike, where employees pedalled to blend their own smoothies, emphasising the enjoyment of wellness.
Recognising Healthy Lifestyle Achievements
The event concluded with the announcement of winners of Empact Group’s “Biggest Loser” competition, which started in July. The challenge encouraged employees across all regions to adopt healthier lifestyles, inspiring long-term investments in personal health and fitness.
Wellness as a Business Strategy
The Employee Wellness Day reflects Empact Group’s broader strategy of integrating wellness into its company culture. By supporting employees holistically—physically, mentally, and financially—Empact Group fosters a productive workforce while encouraging individuals to lead balanced, fulfilling lives.
“Our goal is to create an environment where employees can flourish, both personally and professionally,” says Quinn. “A healthy workforce is a productive one, and we are proud to support our employees on their wellness journey.”
Empact Group’s commitment to wellness is a testament to its belief that employees are not just contributors to business success but valued individuals deserving of support to achieve their full potential.
