Rip Curl GromSearch Port Alfred presented by Royal St Andrews Hotel – Save The Dates

Port Alfred – The Rip Curl GromSearch Port Alfred, presented by the Royal St Andrews Hotel, will be the fourth contest in the popular Rip Curl GromSearch series. Originally a two-day event, the competition has already been extended to three days in anticipation of another full event.
The tournament will take place from 28th- 30th July. It is open to surfers U12 to U18, with the U16 being the premier division. The contest is the fourth event in a five-part series.
The Rip Curl GromSearch competitions are known for attracting some of the best junior surfers in the country. The first three events experienced massive entries. The Port Alfred contest will undoubtedly be in the same mould.

The contest will be held at East Beach, Port Alfred, known for its consistent right-hand waves and often perfect conditions. All surfing enthusiasts are encouraged to come down to East Beach to catch the action live.
The tournament is presented by The Royal St Andrews Hotel, which will be offering special accommodation rates for officials, athletes and their families.
Event Rates
R1150.00 per room per night, single accommodation and inclusive of breakfast.
R675.00 per person sharing per night, double accommodation and inclusive of breakfast.
This translates to R1350.00 per room per night, B&B for two persons.
Participants must call/email the reservations office and quote "Rip Curl Gromsearch".

Overall, this Rip Curl GromSearch Junior Surfing Contest promises to be an exciting event that should not be missed by surfing enthusiasts or anyone interested in watching the best young surfers in the country compete against each other in a friendly and competitive environment. The Rip Curl GromSearch contests are all Premier SAST events, with 1,000 points going to the winners and prizemoney per all Premier events.
The U16 division is recognised as the premier division at the Grom Search contests. Louise Lepront, Anastasia Venter and Lily Heny have all been performing well in the U16 Girls division, while Levi Epenetos, Josh Malherbe and Cooper Smith are some of the more consistent surfers in the U16 Boys, getting solid results in this division.
Live Heats will cover the contest, with live scores available throughout the event. The previous Rip Curl GromSearch event was held in Scottburgh on the South Coast. Those results can be found here Live Heats
