The annual KAP sani2c mountain bike race attracts biking enthusiasts from across the globe for an epic three-stage adventure that crosses the beautiful Renishaw precinct concluding at Scottburgh Golf Club. This year, locals and residents are invited to join us to support the participants at the Renishaw Hills spectators’ spot being set up at the Renishaw Farm Causeway Bridge on Saturday, 29 April between 10am and 2pm.
“This is going to be a great, family-friendly event where the KZN South Coast gets to show its community spirit by cheering in the dedicated sportsmen and women competing in the KAP sani2c,” said Jonathan Acutt, Managing Director of Acutts Real Estate. “As a community-oriented estate centre on outdoor activities, it’s fitting that Renishaw Hills plays host for our spectators! Everyone is invited to bring their camping chairs, cooler boxes, and umbrellas to the spectator spot where we’ll be organising boerie rolls and some fun giveaways.”
What is the Kap sani2c?
Starting way back in 1998 by ‘Farmer Glen’, he and a group of fellow biking enthusiasts would be dropped in the middle of nowhere on dry runs for this now-established event. Over the years, the route was reconnoitred and developed on mountain bikes, constantly being upgraded for user benefit.
This three-day biking race starts at Glencairn Farm on Wednesday, 26 April with an 84km descent to Mackenzie Club before setting off on the 96km race on day two which ends at Jolivet. Finally, riders will set off on the 86km route that heads towards the coast, finishing at Scottburgh Golf Club. The final day will include the route through Andre’s Underpass under the R612 and into Highway, before taking a sharp left onto Renishaw Trails where spectators will get the chance to watch bikers pass before finishing the race.
Renishaw’s Spectator Spot
Get to the spectator spot early to enjoy a free boerie roll and the chance to win a free lunch at the stunning Renishaw Village Café.
