Written by: Olivia Jones Communications Save to Instapaper
The Sapphire Coast is gearing up for another unforgettable festive season, with an exciting line-up of beach activities, family events, charity drives, and markets throughout December. Sapphire Coast Tourism is inviting locals and visitors to join in the holiday magic, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the region’s spectacular coastline.
Romy Wenzel of Sapphire Coast Tourism said the 2025 programme builds on the success of previous years and promises something for every holidaymaker: “From thrilling beach activities to community-led events and fantastic festive markets, this year’s programme captures the welcoming spirit of the Sapphire Coast. We’re also proud to support meaningful initiatives that remind us that the festive season is a time of generosity and connection.”
The holiday programme is a collaborative effort, with various stakeholders participating throughout the event. These include Lifesaving SA, the KZN Sharks Board, and the Clean Surf Project. Durban Tourism and KZN Tourism and Film Authority will also join with on-site activations, while KZN Economic Regulatory Authority will conduct the Don’t Drink and Swim Campaign.

The second Sandcruiser was recently donated by Moodley’s Sand Suppliers to benefit the community.
Teddy Bear Drive with The Meg Foundation
On 21 December, visitors are encouraged to bring along a brand new or pre-loved teddy bear (clean and in good condition) to help reach the target of 1,000 teddies for sick children in hospitals, disability centres, and disadvantaged communities.
Teddy bears offer comfort and companionship to young patients facing stressful or lonely medical journeys, which is particularly needed during the festive season. A donation drop box will be available at the Wheels on Waves office at Amanzimtoti Main Beach from 29 November 2025.
