Durban - The highly anticipated Rip Curl GromSearch Junior Surfing Tournament event number 4 is set to kick off tomorrow morning, July 12, at 7h30 am at Dairy Beach, Durban. This event promises to showcase the very best junior surfing in South Africa.

The heat schedule can be found on LiveHeats here - DAIRY BEACH.

Dairy Beach in Durban provides the perfect stage for this prestigious tournament, the 4th contest in a five-event series. Small but highly contestable waves are forecast for this event, which will finish on Saturday around lunchtime.

The Rip Curl GromSearch will feature a multitude of talented junior surfers, each eager to make their mark on the waves. With divisions spanning various age groups, from U12s to U18s, the tournament provides a platform for these young athletes to showcase their abilities.

The premier division of the series is the U16 division, and the top four results out of five will determine the 2023 Rip Curl Gromsearch Series Results.

In a joint venture with Rip Curl South Africa, Zigzag Magazine, Sea Harvest and the Royal St Andrews Hotel, the winners of the premier Boys U6 and Girls U16 divisions will earn a coveted entry into the prestigious Rip Curl GromSearch International Finals and R20k towards their travel arrangements. This tournament will be held in Indonesia in November of this year.

If a winner cannot attend the International Finals, the entry slot and travel voucher will be passed on to the next surfer on the Rip Curl South Africa GromSearch rating list.

The GromSearch series allows kids to compete against the best surfers in the same age bracket from their country. This format gives these groms insight into a life of competitive surfing. It gives them the invaluable experience of surfing and competing in different waves nationwide.

The Rip Curl GromSearch contests are all premier SAST events, with 1,000 points going to the winners and prizemoney per all premier events.

The Rip Curl GromSearch contest series is run by Surfing South Africa and supported by Sea Harvest.
