African Licence changes how students learn

Written by: Save to Instapaper

African Licence today launched a new version of its free, high quality online learner’s licence book for South African students who wish to pass their Learner’s Licence. The new book fundamentally change learners’ study experience and increases the likelihood of remembering and understanding driving concepts, and therefore the chance of passing the test.Says Chief Publishing Officer Christo Crampton: “We have improved navigation and enhanced how different chapters and paragraphs work together. More importantly, we have added two key features that make it easier for students to engage with the learner’s licence content and instantly put their knowledge to practice with Instant Testing.”In a traditional book, learners first read, then turn to a page with questions, and then check answers in the back. With African Licence’s new book, students can take instant, relevant tests directly from the book. This not only saves time, but simplifies the study experience. Learners can now also comment on the book, thereby helping each other understand the concepts and provide tips and ideas that may be useful for others that are aiming to pass the learner’s licence test the first time. Says Mr Crampton: “These features fundamentally change the learning experience - African Licence’s book is not really a book, it is a new way of studying that is fun and that increases the likelihood of remembering and understanding the concepts.”African Licence’s first learner’s licence book was the first free, high quality learner’s licence book available to South African students, who historically were dependent on buying physical learner’s licence books. This helped students from all socio-economic backgrounds access driving education and was unique not only in South Africa, but unique in open access professional publishing globally. For students that wish to practice for the actual learner’s licence test, African Licence offers a testing facility which includes a dozen mock tests and more than 700 unique questions across the learner’s licence curriculum. Says Mr Crampton: “The website’s Feedback feature is also helpful: if you have a question, just ask; if you have an idea, share it; if you wish to report an issue, do so. We are here to help South Africans obtain their driver’s licence.”For more information, please contact African Licence at http://www.africanlicence.com via the website’s Feedback feature, which is accessible on all pages.
