TSiBA Grows Leaders! - 2 students from the Tertiary School of Business Administration awarded prestigious Mandela Rhodes Scholarship The goal of the Mandela Rhodes Scholarships Programme is to offer educational opportunities to all African citizens with scholastic, intellectual and leadership potential for postgraduate study at suitable tertiary institutions in South Africa.

Amongst the 30 selected for 2010, 2 students from the Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) based in Cape Town made the cut. This was no easy feat for Siyabonga Gobingca and Asanda Dodi who progressed from a shortlist of 117 applicants to the final top 30 successful Scholars. Mandela Rhodes Scholarships Manager Theresa Daniels said, "We would like to congratulate TSiBA on the calibre of candidates sent. The quality of the short listed candidates was outstanding and the Selection Committee had a very tough task in selecting the 2010 Scholars."

“The Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) started five years ago as a private, not for profit provider of higher education with a vision to 'ignite opportunity' . One of the many commitments TSiBA makes to its students is the constant sourcing of opportunities for those who commit themselves to their studies,” says, Leigh Meinert Managing Director of TSiBA. She continues, “We are so thrilled that TSiBA students have again been awarded this prestigious scholarship and we hope that these achievements will be contagious and that many other TSiBA students will follow.”

Asanda is completing her final three-month internship project in Basel, Switzerland with Novartis and Siyabonga is also completing his final 3-month internship with Old Mutual in Cape Town. Both will graduate with TSiBA’s Bachelor in Business Administration degree at the end of this year.

“TSiBA prides itself in being a provider of high quality business education, to produce two Mandela Rhodes Scholars from a campus of 220 students is an extraordinary accomplishment,” concludes Meinert.

TSiBA alumnus, Khanyisa Mtombeni was the institution’s first recipient of the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship in 2008. TSiBA recently acquired a second campus in the rural town of Karatara, this realizes TSiBA aim of enabling talented young people, particularly those in remote areas, to access the vast opportunities that higher education opens up. TSiBA was founded in 2004. TSiBA is registered and accredited with the Department of Education as a Private Higher Education Institution.

TSiBA offers an enriched Bachelor in Business Administration focused on Entrepreneurial Leadership.
