Afrika Mayibuye Movement Unveils Mayoral and Councilor Candidates at Sedibeng Regional Birthday Celebration

SEBOKENG, GAUTENG – September 17, 2026 – The Afrika Mayibuye Movement (Mayibuye) marked a significant milestone on September 6th 2026, hosting a dual celebration to commemorate the party’s anniversary and officially introduce its slate of candidates for the upcoming local elections. The event, held at the Rivers of Living Water in Evaton, drew supporters and community members from across the Sedibeng Region. 

The gathering served as a strategic launchpad for Mayibuye’s 2026 electoral campaign. Key leadership took the stage to present the movement’s choices for mayoral and councilor positions, emphasizing a commitment to local governance and community-driven leadership. The introduction of these candidates signals the party's readiness to contest seats and advocate for its platform in the Sedibeng District. 

Following the formal candidate presentations, the atmosphere shifted to one of festivity as attendees celebrated the movement's birthday. The event underscored the Mayibuye's growth and its deepening roots within the Evaton community and the broader Sedibeng area.
