The festival programme is announced for this year’s Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill

The stunning KwaDukuza will host the 55th Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill from 25 June to 8 July. Alongside all the surfing action of The Ballito Pro Challenger Series at Willard Beach, visitors to the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast’s shores can enjoy the jam-packed festival programme featuring live entertainment, quality retail, extreme sports, art activations, kids’ activities, and more!
“This marks the 15th year of hosting The Ballito Pro in KwaDukuza and we have even more festival fun planned for visitors seeking some warmth and entertainment this winter,” commented Collette Bundy, The Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill Festival Organiser. “The world-class surfing is matched by the top-notch festival programme that caters to all tastes and ages. We encourage everyone to start booking their spot on KwaDukuza or plan for an awesome day out during this two-week festival – it’s definitely not one you want to miss!”
Ballito Pro Festival Lineup
There will be daily Recreational Action at Willard Beach for the whole family to enjoy including fashion shoes, beach sports, dance, yoga, nduku (stick fighting) demonstrations and environmental displays. The little ones will be kept entertained in the Willard Beach Kids’ Corner where there will be daily face painting, sandcastle building, beach dashes, water balls, and the popular Jive with Jen dance programme.
The Challenger Series surfing action isn’t the only sport on the go – visitors can head to the Ballito Skate Park at Willard Beach for the Ballito Pro Skate Jam Pres by Volcom & Etnies. This competition showcases the best in local and upcoming skate talent. The energy levels stay elevated at the Monster Energy Activation where top BMX performers will wow the crowd, while water sports enthusiasts will enjoy catching the Engen Ballito Downwind surfski race set to run between Blythedale and Tiffany’s Beach.
Taking it into the afternoon and evening, there will be great food, drinks, arts, and crafts, an assortment of quality goods, and live music at the Retail Delight section daily. The party continues with the Corona Sunset Sessions and Ballito Pro Music Concerts Presented by Corona which is a free-to-attend, two-day festival showcasing top South African musicians. Visitors can then feel the beat with the Battle of the DJs, dance competitions, and after parties forming part of the After Dark Programme at Conchilla, Good Vibes, and Mozambik Oyster Festival.
The Ballito Pro Presented by O’Neill has a strong social, environmental, and cultural focus supporting local conservation, upliftment, and development initiatives. The 55th anniversary is no different, with this year’s programme including the Litter4Tokens Recycling Awareness Campaign and Beach Activation encouraging ocean conservation while supporting livelihoods. The Ilembe Surf Riders Fundraiser is also one not to be missed, as well as The Ballito Pro art activation – Painting on Purpose, an art competition set to uncover the region’s hidden talent.
Following the 2024 theme, This is the Battlefield – Lena Inkundla Yempi, visitors will watch the best surfers battle it out in the longest-running professional surfing event while enjoying a host of top-class festival entertainment.
