Satellite79 release catchy Pop Rock Single and music video for ‘Taken’
Submitted by: Joanne OlivierSatellite79 returns in 2021 with a brand new single and music video TAKEN, and a full length album called ‘Into The Sun’ coming October 2021. Satellite79 was formed in the wake of the breakup of Concussion Girl in 2012. Core members Alec and Kevin have been at the heart of the band ever since, though some others have come and gone over the years.
The current line-up has been in place for the last two years with phenomenal lead vocalist Robin Finch providing a new and exciting dimension to the band, as well as the recent addition of talented young drummer, Adrian Booysen. Since the release of the first album in 2016 the band has been gigging regularly, playing venues such as the legendary Radium Beerhall, Smuggler’s, Tanz Café, The Clubhouse Grill, Rumours, RustyHook and numerous outdoor festivals.
Their brand new album is preceded by the first single ‘Taken’, a song that is already climbing the charts on Darren Scott’s Mix FM Top 40 currently at No 18. The album was co-produced by the band and legendary guitarist and producer Kevin Leicher, best known for his work with Josie Field and Arno Carstens. The music video was shot in Johannesburg and directed by Kevin Botha’s son James Botha and edited by lead singer Robin. LIVE GIGS Catch Satellite79 at upcoming live gigs Clubhouse Grill on 4 September and The Radium on 9 October for their official album launch.
